National Marriage Week USA

National Marriage Week USA

Imperial Valley ROP's Family Development and Stabilization projects and hundreds of other organizations nationwide joined to celebrate National Marriage Week USA this February 7 to 14. National Marriage Week USA is a collaborative campaign to strengthen individual marriages, reduce the divorce rate, and build a stronger marriage culture, which in turn helps reduce poverty and benefits children. Overwhelming research tells us that marriage if beneficial in the following ways:

  • Economically: Married individuals have more wealth and financial stability.
  • Personally: Married folks have more happiness, more lifelong thriving love, longer lives and better health.
  • For Children: Children with both parents at home do vastly better in schools and have far less trouble with the law, teen pregnancy, and addiction.

Imperial Valley ROP understands that healthy and supported individuals and families are bettered prepared to succeed in all aspects of life. Our Family Development and Stabilization projects provide support, guidance and skill development for each member of a familial unit and for the family as a whole. Our Career Technical Education department and school partners understand that healthy home environments support student success. Our employer partners acknowledge that healthy home environments are paramount to a happy and productive workforce.

Imperial Valley ROP is pleased that the Cities of Brawley, Calexico, El Centro and Imperial, along with the Imperial County Board of Supervisors have proclaimed the Week of February 7-14 as “National Marriage Week” in their respective cities and in the County.
