Mission and Goals

Mission Statement:

IVROP empowers participants with personal and professional competencies by helping them to become strategic thinkers and asset builders as they forge their own viable pathway in this constantly changing global society. 

Vision Statement:

The Imperial Valley Regional Occupational Program is dedicated to developing and providing quality training, career, technological, and educational services.  These programs will meet the needs of all students empowering them to become successful contributing members of a global society.

Accreditation

Imperial Valley Regional Occupational Program is Accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges. This accreditation was granted for six-years through June 30, 2028 with a mid-cycle report in the 2024-2025 school year.

College and Career Readiness

Outcomes: 

Explore academic and career passions to set positive educational and career goals.
Compete rigorous academic and career technical education programs that support college and career pathways in preparation for college credit, state licenses, and industry credentials. 

Outcomes

Exhibit appropriate implementation of academic and career technical skills by making connections between abstract concepts with real-world applications. 
Demonstrate and apply employability skills including resume, writing, job application completion, and interview etiquette.

Academic Skills and Knowledge

Outcomes: 

Demonstrate and apply a variety of academic and career technical skills and knowledge to complete projects with reflect originality and high standards. 
Apply critical thinking skills to research, evaluate, analyze, and solve problems in new and creative ways. 

Outcomes

Utilize appropriate professional and technical terminology to align academic and workplace settings. 
Communicate ideas and actions effectively with others through verbal, written, artistic, and technological methods while practicing active listening skills.

Professional Skills

Outcomes: 

Demonstrate responsibility, professionalism, personal commitment, and appropriate ethics by abiding by school, community, and workplace rules, laws, and regulations. 
Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration and contribute positively to the school or work environment through positive decisions and interaction with diverse groups. 

Outcomes

Demonstrate effective use of professional workplace skills such as the use of common workplace communication and terminology, application of problem-solving strategies, and effective implementation of organization and time management.

Demonstrate ability to work independently and to work from anywhere by applying existing and new technology, resources, tolls, and a variety of techniques to enrich and accomplish tasks and enhance productivity.

Practice skills that demonstrate responsible money management and an understanding that Financial Literacy leads to career and life success along with being prepared for unexpected financial challenges. 

Organizational Goals

IVROP’s organizational goals help guide the work we do every day. These goals keep us focused on our priority of providing quality services and making a positive difference in the lives of the people and communities we serve. These goals were developed internally to help us stay on track and continue improving how we support those who count on us.

Transform lives by empowering and supporting participant through improved learning, personal, career and academic achievements, to obtain certificate and degree completions, as well as excel in workforce competencies.

Strengthen and stabilize families and individuals by offering comprehensive services that help improve the overall quality of life in the Imperial Valley.

Ensure effective IVROP collaborative relationships with Joint Powers Agreement (JPA) districts, stakeholders as well as community partners through ongoing and transparent communication.

Improve institutional accountability and program effectiveness by establishing a comprehensive evaluation process and accreditation.

Create and test an employee attraction and retention strategy includes strategic professional development opportunities for both staff and managers.

Reinforce and support a culture of inclusiveness and diversity to promote lifelong learning, developmental assets, and social justice.

Foster and advocate environmental stewardship efforts by implementing sustainable practices and education throughout our projects and in our community.
