STAR

STAR

Project Description:

Project STAR is built on the foundation that individuals facing behavioral and/or mental health issues want to thrive for a smooth recovery and stability in their lives. Our services help to reinforce this desire within each of the individuals we serve, through comprehensive services that foster responsible behavior, healthy relationships, and providing participants with the tools they need to become productive members of society and the community.

Description of Services:

Project STAR provides various workshops and activities that allow participants to get hands on experience and enhance their knowledge in areas of their educational, vocational, and social lives. Participants receive completion incentives and certificates by completing workshops on basic skills, life skills, social skills and employability skills. STAR offers case management support and support services. These services are offered in the El Centro and Brawley Recovery Centers.

Project Goals:

The aim of Project STAR is to serve 108 participants in completing a Basic Skills workshop and/or an employability workshop per year, and serve 180 participants in completing the Life Skills workshops per year. The purpose of Project STAR is to increase successful pathways to individualized recover through participation and referral to other agencies such as Department of Rehabilitation, Work Training Center, and the Imperial Valley College.
