Workability

Helps special education students in Imperial County gain job readiness skills, explore careers, and access subsidized work experience, equipping them with essential tools for future success.

WorkAbility I

Project WorkAbility I is a program designed to support special education students in Imperial County schools. Running year-round from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025, it helps students with an active Individualized Education Program (IEP) gain important job readiness skills and career experiences.

Through WorkAbility I, students receive support with work readiness, career and vocational assessments, interest inventories, and career speakers. The program also provides subsidized work experience placements, giving students a hands-on opportunity to explore different careers. The main goals are to enroll 262 high school students and 125 middle school students, serving schools across Imperial County while equipping students with valuable skills to help them succeed in their future careers.
