Become a CTE Instructor!
Interested in teaching what you know? IVROP can help you earn your California Career Technical Education (CTE) Credential—so you can teach high school and adult students in the field you’ve worked in. Teach in one of the 15 CTE industry sectors.
Who’s Eligible?
You may qualify if you:
- Have at least three years (3,000 hours) of industry experience in the field you want to teach.
- Hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Have at least one year of hands-on experience in your industry.
- Meet recency of experience:
- 1 year within the last 5 years, or
- 2 years within the last 10 years.
CTE Credentialing Process:
Get a job offer first. Once hired, IVROP will guide you step by step to enroll in a CTE Credentialing Program through a Commission-approved institution.
You’ll receive a 3-Year Preliminary Credential and may need to complete online coursework to work toward a Clear Credential.
