Our 3 Guiding Principles:
1.  Identify Needs:
Identify at-risk students and areas in which they require additional support.
2.  Positive Youth Development:
Responding to student needs with non-punitive, evidence-based  strategies.
3.  Parental Engagement: Practices that motivate and engage parents to be partners in their child’s success.
 
Description of Services:
Developmental Assets:
Developmental building blocks that students need to grow up to be healthy, caring, and responsible adults.
Career Exploration:
Help students assess their career interests and discover their future career goals.
Parental Engagement Workshops:
Parents and students work together in activities that highlight practical application of school skills.
Backpack Activities:
Take home projects that promote parent and student engagement.
Classroom Activities:
Presentations and workshops in application and resume development, along with career exploration and work-based learning activities in core academic and Career Technical Education classes.
 
Goal:
Help build capacity of local educational agencies to identify and implement evidence-based, non-punitive programs and practices to keep the most vulnerable pupils in school.
 
Funder:
Funding for this program is through the California Department of Education’s California Learning Communities for School Success Program (Proposition 47). This project is currently funded through June 2020.
