High school students register for CTE classes on their campus with their counselor or Guidance Technician. Home-schooled, private school, and out-of-district students may also enroll. 

Note: Classes meeting during the bell schedule are only open to high school students.

 Agriculture and Natural Resources

Pathway: Agri-science

Introduction to Agri-science – The first course in the Agri-science Pathway. The course provides a foundation for understanding the industry of Agriculture, the career pathways in the agriculture industry, and the application of science contained within them. The course provides introductory knowledge and skills in the areas of animal science, plant and soil science, and agricultural business management. Participation in FFA student organization activities is integral to the course and involves leadership development, career exploration, and reinforcement of academic concepts. 

Ag Biology – The second course in the Agri-science Pathway. This course applies biological principles and understanding to plant and animal science in order to produce or refine agricultural products. Course topics can include: microbiology, genetics, growth and production, structural basis of living systems, chemistry of living things, quantitative problem solving, and data acquisition and display. Participation in FFA student organization activities is integral to the course and involves leadership development, career exploration, and reinforcement of academic concepts. 

Advanced Agri-science – The third course in the Agri-science pathway. This course provides students with opportunities to further their knowledge of applications in science in the agricultural industry. Topics may include, but are not limited to: commercial versus organic farming practices, biotechnology uses in plant and animal production, and chemical uses in production, and sustainability. Participation in FFA student organization activities is integral to the course and involves leadership development, career exploration, and reinforcement of academic concepts.
