Project Description:

Project Éxito's (Success) mission is to serve current and former juvenile youth offenders ages 16-24 of Imperial County. The ultimate goal of Project Éxito is to improve the workforce skills for eligible participants through effective intervention and facilitation to reduce recidivism.

Description of Services:

Project Éxito participants receive the following services: GED/tutoring, case management, educational support, workforce activities, training leading to credential, service learning and mentoring. Participants receive various incentives for completing their Individual Career Plan.

Project Goals:

Project goal is to serve 65 eligible youth per year. The purpose of Project Éxito is to improve long-term labor market prospects of both court involved youth prior to adjudication and juvenile offenders with diversion, expungement education and workforce training activities.

Eligibility/Targeted participants:

Project Éxito serves current and former youth offenders age 16-24 who must reside within designated high poverty and high crime geographic locations in Imperial County (from specific US Census tracts in Brawley, Calexico, and El Centro) and "NEVER been CONVICTED as an adult in the State, Federal and local criminal justice system."

Length of Funding:

Imperial Valley Regional Occupational Program (IVROP) was awarded a Face Forward grant in July 2013 for 39 months. The project is currently funded through September 2016.
