Project THRIVE provides mental health and substance abuse management services to CalWORKs' customers that are navigating barriers affecting their preparation, obtainment, and retention of employment. This project manages a full range of behavioral health services to support customer's participation through the CalWORKs process and eventually through the long term goal of employment.
Description of Services:
Project THRIVE offers individual counseling sessions, organizes weekly support groups, and facilitates admission to Department of Behavioral Health and drug and alcohol services. Project THRIVE also links customers to community resources, organizes retreats and monthly activities, provides transportation to appointments related to the project, conducts home visits, and assists in the Social Security Disability and SSI process. Services are available to both English and Spanish speaking customers.
Project THRIVE's goals are to help customers cope with barriers in preparing for, obtaining and maintaining employment. The project also aims to reduce the obstacles customers have in working towards educational and occupational goals. Overall, Project THRIVE prepares and ensures that customers have reached an acceptable ability to manage mental health symptoms independently.
Project THRIVE provides services to customers receiving assistance from the Imperial County Department of Social Services, CalWORKs and that demonstrate a need for services offered by Project THRIVE.
Imperial Valley Regional Occupational Program (IVROP) Project THRIVE is funded by the Imperial County Department of Social Services, CalWORKs.
Length of Funding:
IVROP Project THRIVE was initially awarded in July 2012 for a period of twelve months. The project has continued receiving funding on a yearly basis and is currently operating in its third year.
