The services provided the ACE program for the youth will be broken down into a summer program and an in-school component. Students will have an opportunity to enroll in a variety of career pathway courses throughout the program. The youth also receive other services such as work experience, academic enhancement, leadership development and counseling services. Work Experience The project provides paid work experience, in both private and public work sites, to all the participating youth. Students are placed in work sites that match their interests. Youth are provided approximately 160 hours of paid work experience at $7.50 per hour. Summer and after-school classes are provided to address the basic skills in the context of a particular career pathway. Program courses are filled with hands-on activities and group projects that the students will find engaging. Workshop Topics:
ACE participants are placed in a 5-10 hour Employability Skills Enhancement Workshop prior to being placed at a worksite. Some of the topics covered in this training include the following: resume & application preparation, career decisions, appropriate appearance and positive attitude. Students in the project learn that they can make a difference. ACE students get to participate in community projects during the program during workshops, field trips or activities. Students learn of the various community projects that are available in the County or perhaps start a project of their own. Click here to see images from past programs. The main office for Project ACE
