Foster youth and former foster youth (Ages 14-21) qualify for Project ACE services. Students have the option of taking advantage of all the services which includes the work experience component. If they wish, they do not have to work as part of the program and still be able to participate in other activities such as field trips or workshops. Students who work have the option of exploring different careers or being placed at a worksite that might hire them afterwards. Students who where in foster care after their 16th Birthday and are between 18-21 years old qualify for assistance with their housing, medical coverage, college financial aid, career training costs, work clothes, transportation and supportive services. Ask about our annual life skills training workshops for high school seniors or older students. These workshops are usually held during the month of June. TRANSITIONAL HOUSING ASSISTANCE Former foster youth from the Imperial County between the ages of 18 and 21 qualify for assistance for transitional housing. You need to contact Project ACE at 337-3096 or Children Services at 337-7700 if you qualify for these services and are in need of assistance. You need to show proof that you are working independently or through a program to receive assistance. There is also assistance provided with searching for an apartment or studio if you are struggling to find a rental.
