Expected Student Learning Results (ESLRs)

During the initial development of the expected student learning results (ESLRs) teachers, students, staff members and other stakeholders were involved in the process. Teachers are also given a classroom poster of the ESLRs to post in their classroom. The guidance technicians assist the teachers in classroom discussions with students on the meaning of the ESLRs and their relevance to the instruction that they receive. An ESLR worksheet (see below in Word or .pdf) was developed to assist teachers in tracking student progress as to when a specific ESLR has been achieved. This form is to be completed by each student and placed in their individual student portfolio. IVROP staff are to use the ESLR Worksheet for Projects.

Because the ESLRs are already measured within certain competencies included on the certificates, awareness of the ESLRs will not be a separate bubble on the certificate.

Questions to think about:

1) How will you be utilizing the ESLR Worksheet?

2) How often will students utilize the form and/or will the form be part of your portfolio assignment?

3) Which will be the best way for IVROP to collect the form?  During the year? At the end of the year?
