What is IVROP? The Imperial Valley Regional Occupational Program (IVROP) is a public education service which provides free, practical hands-on training, career guidance, job placement assistance and other supportive services to youth and adults. IVROP, one of 74 ROPs in California, is a joint powers entity formed by the Brawley Union, Calexico Unified, Calipatria Unified, Central Union, Holtville Unified, Imperial Unified and San Pasqual Valley Unified School Districts, and the Imperial County Office of Education. |

What does IVROP provide? IVROP provides training to acquire entry-level jobs, update/improve job skills, prepare for advanced training and education, prepare for a college major, earn credits towards high school graduation, and earn a certificate of demonstrated competencies. There are no fees or tuition for instruction. All IVROP classes are open to any Imperial County resident regardless of race, sex, religion, national origin, handicap, or income level. IVROP provides community and cooperative classroom training in local businesses and industries for a limited number of classes (select Class Schedule and Class Descriptions links above. IVROP provides additional academic and supportive services to youth and adults (select Projects-Services link above). Employers may participate in Program Advisory Committees (select Employer-Advisory links above) and receive customized training. |

IVROP received a full six-year term of accreditation through June 30, 2011, most recently an extension through June 30, 2012, by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges www.acswasc.org. IVROP will be going through the Self-Study process with a visit planned for April 23-25, 2012. CTE TEACH uses three strategies to support both new and veteran teachers: 1) an on-line early orientation program, 2) an on-line professional development program, and 3) a teacher induction and professional development program.
